Hoe Avenue Peace Summit 40th Anniversary

Ghetto Brothers founder ‘Yellow’ Benjy Melendez invited me to the Hoe Avenue Peace Summit 40th Anniversary in The Bronx on December 11, 2011. The 40th anniversary of the Hoe Avenue Peace Meeting, a historic summit largely credited with the decline of gang violence in the South Bronx and other boroughs, was celebrated on Sunday, December 11, 2011, at the Bronx River Art Center, located at 305 East 140th Street, in The Bronx. Legendary urban photographer and filmmaker Henry Chalfant, Benjy Melendez and his family, along with urban historians and former gang members, attended the forum.
