According to Website Magazine, a survey commissioned by eBay’s local classifieds site Kijiji.com, revealed some interesting factors that users consider before visiting an online classifieds site.

Apparently three in four U.S. adults (75%) claim to prefer to buy/sell items from a site that does not host erotic ads or adult services, and 53% of consumers said they prefer that a family member use a site without such listings.

According to the results of the survey, conducted by Chadwick Martin Bailey, top attributes Americans look for in an online classifieds site include free listings, a safe experience, as well as item value and deals. The reasons consumers opt not to visit online classifieds sites include apprehension that user ads could be misleading or fraudulent (36%), email address spamming (28%), downloading a computer virus (26%) and adult material (24%), according to the Kijiji survey.
