Musicians get exposure during movie theater intermissions

I was watching Pineapple Express on Saturday, and noticed that before the coming attractions began, the intermission service that AMC Theaters uses, Cinema Sounds, offers bands the opportunity to showcase their tracks during film intermissions.

Now before you go all bongo over the prospect of being heard by millions, keep in mind this is not a free service. I guess they figured out a long time ago how valuable a proposition this is.

So, if you have some marketing dollars to spend, this is yet another example of how you can get the most bang for your buck. A broad cross-section of people sitting in seats, doing nothing but eating popcorn, trying to get laid and listening to your band’s music.
