Public artwork to commemorate East Bay’s Key System transit legacy

This past Saturday, renowned Oakland artist Rocky Rische-Baird presented his design for a new mural at the Key System Building. The artwork celebrated the former transit system that once served communities throughout the Bay Area. The mural will eventually be installed as part of a project at 1100 Broadway being developed by SKS Investments which encourages mass transit usage. The painting is being sponsored through a partnership between SKS Investments and the Oakland Heritage Alliance.

The event location was at the intersection of 11th Street and Broadway in Oakland, California and underscored mass transit usage through smart, responsible urban planning.
