Two premier music industry events offer joint programming and entry

Remix Hotel Atlanta 2008 and the Atlantis Music Conference & Festival have teamed up to produce a collaborative event of programming, panels and performances in Atlanta September 18–20, 2008. With Remix Hotel Atlanta situated at the SAE Institute of Technology (215 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30303) and Atlantis residing at the CW Midtown Music Complex (1374 W. Additionally, a $50 All Access pass to Remix Hotel Atlanta guarantees free entry to the Atlantis Music Festival. The three-day event combines interactive workshops, clinics, technology showcases and product demos with panels featuring leading producers and engineers, as well as performances by some of the world’s top electronic and hip-hop artists. The Atlantis Music Festival and Conference, a platform for discovering new music talent, is structured to bring artists, industry, fans and media together to create opportunities in the ever-changing music business environment. Atlantis focuses primarily on independent artists with almost 90% of the festival’s performances coming from unsigned talent. Atlantis provides access to music education and opportunity through demo critiques, industry panels and A&R exposure. Special Atlantis programs like the Music Industry Face Off and the Beatin Up Da Block producer battle give aspiring artists the chance to showcase their work in an industry-rich environment.

“We are extremely excited to be partnering with Remix Hotel for this year’s installment of Atlantis,” says Mark Willis, founder of the Atlantis Music Festival. “During our 11-year history, we have seen the conference landscape change dramatically and feel that our partnership with Remix brings our artists and attendees access to music technology and expertise that no other event in the country can offer. With the combination of our industry panels, showcases and networking parties and Remix Hotel’s technology panels, master classes and nighttime content, we are offering a 360-degree view of everything independent artists need to hone their craft and take the next step in their music careers.”

“Atlantis has not only created an indelible presence in the Atlanta music community but also an exciting forum for up-and-coming artists,” says Joanne Zola, group publisher of Mix, Remix and Electronic Musician magazines. “By partnering with Atlantis, we are able to offer programming to new audiences, including musicians and producers outside the urban and electronic talent base. With Atlantis, we feel we have created a true must-attend event.”
