Discmakers, which specializes in manufacturing CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray and marketing media for personal and business use, is sponsoring the Independent Music World Series. The tour exposes musicians from every genre to music industry participants using impartial judging criteria and a live showcase finale. The goal is to discover, showcase and reward the best independent artists in the country.
The series began in 1995 with a showcase featuring six artists at The Lion’s Den in New York City. Since then, it’s hosted over 230 independent acts in 10 cities around the U.S. and awarded over $1,500,000 in prizes.
There are four regional showcases for 2008, in L.A., Atlanta, N.Y.C. and Chicago, each awarding one Grand Prize package worth an estimated $50,000 and additional prizes totaling an estimated $12,500.
